Even after the other 21 (as of now) MCU movies, Disney/Marvel have never managed to beat the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. There certainly are issues (a few scenes with spotty CGI and some consistency issues with how powerful things and people are), but the balance betwen action, humor, and heart us unmatched in the MCU. Lee Pace is great and of course the main cast is perfect. The relationships develop unrealistically fast and I have a few issues with characters' actions based on their comic book history (I understand that the MCU is separate from the comic universes and they are free to change and adjust things as they please, but little things like knowing how long Rocket and Groot have been together and know each other an emotional scene at the end really doesn't make sense). We see multiple settings on multiple planets and each feels real and unique. I wish they treated Nova Corps with more gravity (there is still time, I guess) and they could have easily established the Guardians's backgrounds better (Drax especially), but these are minor issues. Here's to hoping that one day the manage to match GOTG Vol. 1.
