Review:

"Based on a true story" means "real people lived in the house". It's barely a horror movie. It's more of a fantasy-thriller. The acting was actually pretty good and I guess the house is creepy, but everything else is underwhelming. The pacing is off. The writing and dialog suck. The story is mainly driven by events that only happen because the plot needs them to. It's clear what they are going for, but nothing happens organically. There are flashes of Jacob's Ladder and I think that's what they were working with, but they don't know what they're doing.
