Review:

Okay, now this is a show that has it all. I'll try not to bring spoilers. It's not perfect but I'm beginning to think now that the more characters you have that you actually and genuinely give two shits about, the more you're vested in it. For me, this show has characters you actually care about. Even the villains here are ones you don't want out of the picture just yet. Now let's talk about the actors. I think the ones that really shine, and possibly in order here are Karl Urban & Anthony Starr. Both of which could very well be a tie, Next is Elizabeth Shue, and Jack Quaid. Everyone else is fantastic too. There are several scenes where they too glow. The Boys, as I've recently learned is based on a popular comic series, and I've read several forums where the fans even thought the series was better than the comics. Several fans were impressed with Homelander's portrayal and take on the character. I've never read the comics but after seeing his acting and performance, I can understand why. I've seen it almost twice in it's entirety but not by choice. When my family watches it, I couldn't stop myself from sitting down and watching it again. I should be coding and fixing this site right now but here I find myself watching the last episode with them, now compelled to write about it. This show may not be for one with a weak stomach on certain scenes, but all I can say is to just close your eyes like you used to do as a child when it becomes uncomfortable, and just enjoy it for the characters, acting, dialog and story. My only negative here was some of the cinematography. There were times when I wasn't enjoying the hand held camera, and the choppy editing. Several scenes were nicely done though. I highly recommend this series. Amazon truly delivers here but now I'm thinking this could be the reason why The Tick, which is another one of their series that I loved, was pulled. Black Noir and Overkill should definitely meet.
