Bad Santa is the most depressing Christmas movie I've ever seen. I know there are hundreds of shitty Hallmark movies where dad dies two weeks before Christmas and ones where mom loses her job and how is she going to afford gifts this year, but Bad Santa beats them all for me. Everyone but the fat kid makes me so uncomfortable and everything is so dark and sad. The kid, though, is the best part of the movie. I don't know if he has no emotions in real life or if he has the supreme will power to not react to whatever Billy Bob Thornton is yelling at him and just fucking say "Do you want me to make you some sandwiches?" Every scene he's in is either hilarious or heartwarming. There is no reason this movie should work. Fuck up Santa thief crashes at some fat losers house and bangs Lorelai Gilmore in the hot tub. I have no idea why these relationships form or how they jump ahead to fast, the ending is totally confusing, and there are irrelevant side-plots they drop and ignore. There are big problems with the film and I feel like it should be terrible, but somehow it has heart and authenticity (even thought it is totally unrealistic). It's so dark and dreary and every time my depression levels reach maximum levels, that stupid fucking kid comes in and asks some dumb ass question about reindeer. It's sad, and stupid, and I love it. Fraggle Stick Car.
