Overview: Kadrun and his wife fail to steal the magic amethyst that belongs to the teacher even though they cut off his arm. They are then cursed to live in suffering. The husband and wife need virgin maidens to keep their power and beauty. They use their own child and students to find the maidens. The villagers, who are terrorized by them, fight back and are led by a religious teacher who has inherited the magic amethyst.
