Review:

The pre-CGI effects may look dated but still impressive. Practical effects are more challenging in many regards, which might make this (and the special features on Blu-ray) interesting and educational for students of film making. It's a cerebral take on alien invasion wrapped in an erotic shell. Not everyone's cup of tea, but worth a look. Bonus: Patrick Stewart shines in a smaller role, just two years before Star Trek: The Next Generation. I thought the entire cast worked well together and there's definitely a vision from director Tobe Hooper and the rest of the crew.
